'Friends of ANZAC Park' Toowong (FAPT)

Located since 1916 on the corner of Wool Street and Dean Street, Toowong, and Mt Coot-tha Road, Mt Coot-tha, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. ANZAC Park is opposite the Toowong Cemetery and opposite the Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mt Coot-tha, which is linked by the Toowong Bike and Pedestrian Overpass. It is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, ANZAC parks in the world - a war memorial and a green space for everyone.

About FAPT

Friends of ANZAC Park Toowong (FAPT)
ANZAC Park is situated in Toowong, Brisbane, Queensland. Friends of ANZAC Park are a collection of locals and others who value our green space and war memorial park. From November 2010 - April 2011 we successfully campaigned to save ANZAC Park from BCC proposals under LNP Mayor Campbell Newman to locate a temporary construction workforce car park for the Northern Link Tunnel Project, renamed Legacy Way, constructed by Transcity, within the park. The proposal had been accepted by the Coordinator-General under ALP Premier Anna Bligh. This campaign, which included an application for an injuction to the Supreme Court of Queensland, continued for five months at considerable financial and lifestyle cost to supporters. This is the new post-campaign Blogspot for FAPT.
