Located since 1916 on the corner of Wool Street and Dean Street, Toowong, and Mt Coot-tha Road, Mt Coot-tha, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. ANZAC Park is opposite the Toowong Cemetery and opposite the Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mt Coot-tha, which is linked by the Toowong Bike and Pedestrian Overpass. It is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, ANZAC parks in the world - a war memorial and a green space for everyone.

Water discharge pipe
During May 2012, Transcity will install a small 150mm pipe to provide an outlet for water from the tunnels during construction. This pipe will connect into the existing stormwater drain in Dean Street, Toowong. It is expected that this activity will take approximately two to three weeks to complete.
For more information, please contact Stephen or Melissa from Transcity on 1800 778 772.
Transcity has developed a route for the pipe that will run alongside and between the existing bike and pedestrian paths, ensuring that the work is undertaken within previously disturbed areas of ANZAC Park.
Transcity is liaising with the Friends of ANZAC Park and heritage experts to ensure any areas of heritage significance are avoided during this work.
The work will involve the installation of a pipe under the Western Freeway via an underbore from the area within the shared user path ramp to the western worksite. This will then connect into a newly laid section of pipe that will be installed via into a small trench adjacent to the bike path, which leads to the stormwater drain in Dean Street. Transcity will reinstate and returf all work areas once complete.
In coming days, Transcity will complete a visual survey of the area. Once the design is confirmed, Transcity will be able to provide further details on this work to keep the community and park users informed.
For more information, please contact Stephen or Melissa from Transcity on 1800 778 772.

Dog off-leash park will remain open during tunnel construction works
A DECISION on the location of a temporary road in Toowong has Friends of Anzac Park sighing with relief.
Transcity has revealed that work will start this month on a road running alongside Anzac Park – instead of through it – to relocate a water main for construction of the Legacy Way Tunnel’s entry and exit lanes.
Trancity’s letter to local residents said: ‘‘A temporary light-vehicle access track will run from the work area to the end of Broseley Rd. The dog off-leash area will not be impacted by these works and access to the Broseley Rd footpath and bikeway will be maintained.’’
Geoff Murray from the Friends of Anzac Park said:
‘‘Transcity are conducting themselves in a way in which they are respecting the sensitivity of the park’’.
Water mains work should be finished in June.
